CAPE TOWN - Two suspects are behind bars after being caught with alleged stolen goods on Signal Hill.
Table Mountain National Park rangers said they foiled "pickpocketing attempts" at the popular tourist site during targeted operations on Saturday evening.
South African National Parks (SANParks) spokesperson, Charles Phahlane, said it took a combined effort to catch the alleged crooks.
"The South African National Park’s rangers and Sea, Air and Mountain team, working with the City of Cape Town's law enforcement unit, arrested two suspects with stolen goods and returned them to tourists. Another group of suspects abandoned their efforts due to the presence of law enforcement authorities."
