The golden rule of camping is...
Campers, this one's for you...
Africa Melane chats to Trevor Jooste from SA Campsites.
The festive season for some means making camping memories with family and friends.
Camping may often be a cheaper holiday option than staying in hotels or other alternatives which is why many families opt to camp over the peak festive season.
But deciding on where to go camping might be difficult since South Africa has vast options to consider, says Jooste.
While deciding on where to go, Jooste shares the following tip:
- Know where you want to go: do you want your destination to feature beautiful sunrises, sunsets, mountains, a lake or river to swim, want to glamp or rough-it, want to go somewhere family-friendly or remote? Having these answered will inform which campsite to book.
The most important thing to look for is an established campsite with security, advises Jooste.
For Jooste, Kruger Park is a favourite camp spot to visit because it has about 10-12 campsites and it's situated right in the bush with sounds of lions roaring in the background while you sleep.
The golden rule of camping is, know what your vibe is so you can enjoy the full experience.
