As the lock from the holding cells at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court opens, a tall, slender figure emerges, wearing a blue jacket and jeans.
The accused - who can not be identified as the charges against him relate to minor children - faces six charges of sexual grooming and exposing children to pornography.
According to his attorney, the former Pretoria school principal and teacher has no previous convictions or pending cases.
He was arrested at his residence on Friday following a joint investigation by the United States Department of Homeland Security and Gauteng police.
Police spokesperson Amanda van Wyk says they are still tracing some of the victims.
"Three victims have been positively identified thus far, a further six victims are yet to be traced."
She said during his arrest, authorities seized various electronic devices containing child pornography.
