At least 14 people killed in vehicle collision near Graaff-Reinet

JOHANNESBURG - The Eastern Cape transport department has confirmed to EWN that a deadly vehicle accident on the N9 in the Eastern Cape has left 14 people dead.
It is understood that the accident happened at around 5.30am on Monday morning, about 30 kilometres away from Graaff-Reinet.
Emergency services personnel are currently on the scene, trying to extricate those still trapped in the wreckage.
Unathi Binqose, spokesperson of the Eastern Cape transport department: "We can confirm that it's a total of 14 people that have died in this accident. Initially, the number was 13 but unfortunately, one more person succumbed to injuries and died on the scene, taking the fatalities to 14. All six occupants of the SUV unfortunately perished on the scene and it's eight now that have died from the minibus taxi."
