Target was barbershop owner, claims Khayelitsha community leader after child killed in shooting

CAPE TOWN - A community leader believes those behind the murder of a 12-year-old at a Barbershop in Harare, Khayelitsha were targetting the shop owner.
Gunmen opened fire on the establishment last week, killing the boy and injuring three other children aged between nine and 13.

Anele Gabuza told Eyewitness News that when the shooters could not find the owner, they shot at everyone inside the store.
Gabuza said the community was living in fear after a similar incident in June.
Four people, including three children, were shot and killed at a barbershop in Site C.
"The matter now is under investigation...I don't know what is the reason why they are killing the young people in our society, and we support the police to carry on so that they can arrest anyone that is behind crimes of this nature."
