"This has been a very horrible accident, the MEC for transport in the Eastern Cape, Xolile Nqatha has expressed his sincere words of condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes those in hospital a speedy and full recovery. He's also making a call to road users to obey the rules of the road so we can avoid avoidable accidents like head-on collisions."
Binqose added that a provincial sting operation over the weekend led to 47 arrests, most of whom were for drunken driving.
"Those who may be languishing behind bars right now should consider themselves very lucky because many of those who escaped our clutches, unfortunately, end up causing accidents that claim lives."
