Over 60 illegal miners brought to surface in Sabie

JOHANNESBURG - More than 60 illegal miners have been brought to the surface in Sabie, Mpumalanga -- since rescue operations resumed on Friday.
Law enforcement agencies say additional resources for the retrieval of the trapped miners have fast-tracked the process in the last few days.

Illegal miners who have been brought to the surface remain in police custody.
Earlier this week, three bodies were retrieved.
“The operation is running smoothly and quicker than in the previous two days hence we are hopeful that by the end of today, we will have managed to bring a lot of them from underground," said provincial police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli.
