Case against man suspected of starting Paarl Mountain fire postponed
The 42-year-old is charged under the Veld and Forestry Fire Act for allegedly making a fire that led to the blaze on Saturday, and burned for two days.

CAPE TOWN - The case against a man arrested in connection with a fire on the slopes of Paarl Mountain has been postponed to Tuesday.
The 42-year-old is charged under the Veld and Forestry Fire Act for allegedly making a fire that led to the blaze on Saturday, and burned for two days.
Drakenstein Municipality's head of fire and rescue, Dereck Peceur confirmed the suspect would remain in custody until his next court appearance.
"Our law enforcement division was alerted to a potential suspect that may have caused the fire. [The] division then immediately informed SAPS, who followed up on all leads and was able to arrest the suspect on Sunday afternoon. His case was postponed to the 10th of December and he remains in custody until the next court appearance."
