From Tupperware parties to aunties all over Mzansi swearing by its quality; it's the end of an era.

On 31 December 2024, Tupperware southern Africa will stop making and distributing its much-loved containers.

The ceasing of operations in southern Africa forms part of the company's larger liquidation and restructuring strategy.

The US-based company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September due to declining sales.

In a statement issued on 29 November to Facebook, Tupperware Southern Africa confirmed its closure, citing the lack of manufacturing equipment as a key hurdle.
