Thabazimbi by-elections: Some voters frustrated over municipality’s ongoing political instability
Government has not been functioning for three months following the dissolution of the previous administration due to political infighting.

THABAZIMBI - Some voters in Thabazimbi, Limpopo, have expressed frustration over the ongoing political instability in the municipality as they vote in a by-election.
Government has not been functioning for three months following the dissolution of the previous administration due to political infighting.

The African National Congress (ANC) and Democratic Alliance (DA) have been in conflict for years, even establishing parallel governments and appointing separate municipal officials.
Twenty-one parties are vying for 24 seats in the municipal council.
One resident said she hopes her vote will help end the political instability.
"There was a lot of fighting between the political partners. There was trouble each day, there were strikes, there was no service delivery - it was a mess, I tell you. So, hopefully this time around it will come around."
