Cape Town’s disaster risk management calls for support for victims this fire season

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town's disaster risk management is calling for support for victims this fire season.
The department said more than 4,000 homes were destroyed by fires and other weather incidents during the summer of 2023.

Over the same period, officials also issued humanitarian relief to more than 11,000 disaster victims.
The city's Charlotte Powell said the metros relief teams need even more support
"Donations of non-perishable foodstuff, personal hygiene items, nappies, baby formula, and blankets and bedding are welcome."
