Community leaders and residents from Elsies River, Ravensmead, Uitsig, and Bishop Lavis are set to take to the streets on Sunday, with a clarion call to end gang violence.
"The march will start at the Elsies River Civic Centre and culminate with a peace rally. The aim of this event is to highlight the issue of violence in our community and also to appeal for peace and calm,” said community crime fighter, Imraahn Mukaddam.
Tensions flared in the community in November when 14-year-old Grantham Jahmiel van Reenen was shot and killed outside his home while making his way to school.
Two of his friends were wounded in the attack.
