CAPE TOWN - Police are investigating the discovery of the body of a 13-year-old boy in Delft.

The victim was found on a field before 6 am on Tuesday, and police were alerted.

 
The police's Frederick Van Wyk: "On their arrival they found the body of a teenager, lying on his back with multiple injuries to his body and face. He was dressed in blue jeans, a maroon t-shirt and red All-Star takkies. Circumstances surrounding this fatal incident are under investigation and no arrests have been made yet."

This is the second body in as many weeks to be found in Delft.

In October, a 12-year-old boy's charred remains were found on a field in Leiden.
