JOHANNESBURG - Residents at Phumla Mqashi in Lenasia south of Johannesburg have taken their protest over water cut off to the streets, blockading roads.
Earlier this month, the community chased away Joburg Water officials who were there to cut off illegal connections in the area.

The water utility subsequently cut off supply. Residents now say they are unhappy with the water tankers supplied to them.
They have split into two groups, with one blocking roads at the Golden Highway, and the other headed to deliver a memorandum to city representatives at the local civic centre.
