With the ANC in KZN deemed unfit to recover lost ground - one of the options the party is considering is disbanding the provincial executive committee (PEC).
Another option on the table is deploying senior and experienced leaders to the province, as concerns rise that the current leadership is too weak.
The ANC's spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu, says the options will be debated during Monday’s meeting.
"So this exercise we are embarking on aims to strengthen KwaZulu-Natal. There are various scenarios that are being looked at, and we will in due course outline what the decision is."
The party’s NWC will make recommendations to its national executive committee (NEC) on the future of the ANC in KZN.
The next NEC meeting is scheduled to sit later this month, when a decision will be made on its KZN leadership.
