JOHANNESBURG - Motorists can expect a slight reduction in petrol prices this month.
This is while diesel and illuminating paraffin prices are expected to increase.
That’s the latest prediction from the Automobile Association of South Africa.

According to the association, fuel price adjustments may not result in a massive shift in the holiday road traffic volumes.
“While baseline unaudited figures from the Central Energy Fund for fuel prices in December are currently indicating a decrease of around 7 cents a litre to unleaded 93, and a slight increase of 3 cents to unleaded 95, adjustments to industry margins could see prices to both fuels increase" said the AA’s Eleanor Mavimbela.
Mavimbela added the changes in fuel prices were due to fluctuations in international product prices and the decrease of the rand against the US Dollar.
"It is probable that the annual margin adjustments could also have a negative impact on the expected increase of around 48 cents per litre to diesel also pushing this fuel price higher. The expected increase of around 43 cents per litre for illuminating paraffin will also not come as good news for users of this fuel in December."
