Elsies River residents bid farewell to shooting victim Grantham Jahmiel van Reenen
The teenage boy was shot and killed while on his way to school two weeks ago.

CAPE TOWN - The funeral service of 14-year-old Grantham Jahmiel van Reenen is underway at Owen Road in Eureka, Elsies River.
The teenage boy was shot and killed while on his way to school two weeks ago.
Two of his friends were rushed to hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds.
At least 300 residents, including members of the Rastafarian religion, gathered to bid him farewell.
The Rastafarian congregation led Sunday’s funeral proceedings for Van Reenen as they bid a heartfelt farewell to the teenaged boy.
It is understood that an unidentified gunman stopped near Van Reenen and his friends and randomly opened fire.
The motive behind the shooting has not yet been established.
Elsies River is one of Cape Town’s gang violence hotspots.
No arrests have been made.
