More than 8,000 medical interns and community services professionals placed

JOHANNESBURG - A total of 8,403 eligible medical interns and community services personnel have been placed for the 2025 annual cycle with no major hiccups.
Health Department spokesperson Foster Mohale said Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi is pleased that medical students have been placed within record time.

Mohale added that the department has started preparing appointment letters for the more than 7,000 applicants who have accepted their placement offers.
"The stakeholder involvement was underpinned by transparency with the department ensuring that it was accessible for clarity, engaging regularly, and updating final year students throughout the allocation process," he said.
