Four suspects, 23-year-old Carlo Geunantin, 21-year-old Ishaam Fischer, 22-year-old Vanroy Petersen, and 36-year-old Melvin Geunatin appeared in a relatively empty courtroom today.
The NPA has linked them to the disappearance of Nick Frischke on 14 February last year.
But today the court heard the accused also committed other crimes on the same day including robbing a delivery truck at gunpoint.
The suspects previously admitted to robbing Frischke along the Hangberg hiking trail.
His cellphone, a backpack, and a credit card belonging to Frischke was found in their possession.
The state has made submissions to add murder charges to their rap sheet but in the absence of evidence, this hasn’t happened.
The trial has been postponed to the 16th of January 2025 and the four accused will remain in custody.
