CAPE TOWN - The mother of two siblings accused of fraudulently taking out funeral insurance policies on murdered 'Noem My Skollie' actor David Manuel, says the charges against her children are frivolous.
On Wednesday, Wanda and Sindiswa Mbele appeared at the Athlone Magistrates Court and were charged with fraud and money laundering.
This is in connection with two funeral policies they allegedly took in the name of the deceased, claiming to be his cousin.

Nomhle Mbele is adamant that her children, Wanda and Sindiswa, did not misrepresent themselves as David Manuel's cousins when they took out funeral insurance policies in his name.
She said she was given the responsibility of raising David and his younger brother Patrick, by their biological mother on her deathbed.
"In my culture when someone says those things on her death bed you oblige. I did so and raised Patrick as my own while his brother David was in prison. I gave Patrickvan education and took him to the initiation school."
The State insists that the siblings are not related to David Manuel, and fraudulently benefitted R100,000 in insurance payouts from his murder.
