Ramokgopa said illegal electricity users have until 13 December to make an admission of guilt.
The minister said those who come forward will be given fines of up to R6,000, which can be paid off over 12 months.
“They could come even after the 24th. We will regularise them with an admission that they have been tampering in lieu of using the illegal platform in admission, and then there is what we call the tamper fines.”
Ramokgopa said illegal electricity users are costing the economy R2 million a month.
