KZN police announce over 400 illegal immigrants arrests made in last 3 months

DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested more than 400 illegal immigrants in the past three months.
Police said their clampdown on illegal immigrants, counterfeit goods, and outlets selling expired food has yielded results.

Provincial Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi briefed the media on policing activities over the past three months.
“Over 400 illegal immigrants were arrested during various operations across the province within the reporting period. The majority of them have already been deported, whilst others are still going through the legal processes.”
He said police also confiscated counterfeit goods amounting to millions of rand.
“Over R100 million worth of counterfeit high-end goods, mostly clothing items, were confiscated during operations in Durban and Pietermaritzburg. Police will continue to pay unannounced visits to shops that sell counterfeit goods.”
