JOHANNESBURG - The former chairperson of the audit committee of South African Airways (SAA) - Yakhe Kwinana - has appeared before the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court.
That is on charges of fraud linked to the irregular awarding of an auditing contract dating back to 2011.
The court heard that in 2011, Kwinana was part of the board of directors who awarded an auditing contract to two firms - PwC and Nkonki Incorporated - where she failed to declare a conflict of interest as her firm, Kwinana & Partners, did work worth millions for PwC and Nkonki.
The State is not opposed to her application for bail.
