Bridget Mangwandi (20) wins MasterChef SA: 'I put my heart on the plate'
On Saturday, Mangwandi became the competition’s youngest winner, and the first Black woman to take the crown.

On Saturday night, Bridget Mangwandi - the youngest winner ever - became the first Black woman to take the MasterChef crown.
Her final dish was a twist on the classic South African chicken with apricot but adapted to Kingklip.

She says she chose this dish because she wanted to exceed the judge’s expectations and show what she could do.
“I really wanted to dig deep. This is the final cook, so you really want to put your heart on the plate.”

Now that the competition is over, she plans to continue studying and wants to have a cooking show.
