JOHANNESBURG - The South African Communist Party (SACP) says it remains unhappy with the African National Congress (ANC)'s decision to share a bed with the Democratic Alliance in government following the May 29 elections.
The two alliance partners met at Luthutli House in Johannesburg on Sunday to discuss their turbulent relationship and recent political developments.
During the meeting, the SACP expressed frustration with the ANC's top brass over its decision to invite the DA and Freedom Front Plus to the government.

The SACP's spokesperson, Alex Mashilo, said this move has undoubtedly affected the relationship between the two alliance partners.
"We had an alliance political briefing session where the SACP and COSATU briefed the leadership of the ANC about why we don’t like the DA. It is not just a matter of heart, it is a matter of material interest. There is a clash in the material interests. It is not even a matter of whether we are prepared to accept something or not. Every political struggle consists of contradictions. What we are prepared to do is to engage in the contradictions towards a solution to the problem," said Mashilo.
