CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Mobility Department said its festive season road safety campaign was in full swing.
Provincial Mobility MEC Isaac Sileku has formally launched the province's road safety plan for the summer holidays.
He said that close to 600 traffic officers would be out in full force across the province's roads.
Sileku added that drunk driving, speeding, overloading, and fatigue management would be some of the key focus areas.
"We urge road users coming to the Western Cape to please rest when they feel tired, please don't speed and make sure that you are very vigilant on the road. If you want to leave and come to our province, make sure that you give yourself enough time so that you don't rush."
