CAPE TOWN - The Bo-Kaap Civic and Ratepayers Association has submitted a plan to the City of Cape Town proposing a parking zone outside the area.
Last week, residents protested outside the Iziko Bo-Kaap Museum to express their dissatisfaction with the influx of tourist buses in the neighbourhood.
Association chairperson, Osman Shaboodien, added that the historical area lacked a tourist management plan.
"I think that is what we have been calling for and have been trying to discuss it now for a number of years. And it starts with regulating the traffic flow within Bo-Kaap. Unfortunately, the roads and the streets do not lend itself to these big buses."
