SAWS issues fire warning for parts of Northern Cape, Free State and Western Cape
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in these areas as temperatures peak in the high 30s, especially in the Free State.

CAPE TOWN - The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a fire danger warning for most parts of the Northern Cape, the western parts of Free State, as well as the northeastern parts of the Western Cape.
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in these areas as temperatures peak in the high 30s, especially in the Free State.

Forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela urged residents to be extra cautious when starting fires.
"People should make sure they don't start any unnecessary fires, and should there be any fires that they see they should report them to the necessary authorities."
