CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police are urging the public to come forward with any information regarding the murder of a man on Mostert Street in Monte Vista.
Authorities said the 49-year-old victim was followed from an ATM after withdrawing money on Friday.
Upon reaching his residence, an altercation occurred, during which one of the suspects shot the victim on the sidewalk.
Police have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in the crime.
“We’ve got reason to believe that it was a bank following, with most probably robbery as a motive, even though the suspects fled the scene without any leads,” said South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Malcolm Pojie.
“Detectives are following all leads to trace the suspects. In the meantime, the vehicle of the suspects has been traced and recovered in a parking lot in Parow.”
