Planned weekend outage for some Cape Town southern suburbs

CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town is warning six areas in the southern suburbs of planned electricity outages overnight this weekend.

The affected areas are Grassy Park, Pelican Park, Muizenberg, Steenberg, Sun Valley, and Clovelly.

The city said critical overhead infrastructure upgrades are scheduled for the areas, adding that the work would be carried out overnight, depending on weather conditions.

On Saturday, residents can expect power cuts to take place between 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM, and Sunday between 10:00 PM to 04:00 AM.

While residents can expect power supply to be affected during these hours, the municipality has also warned of unplanned power cuts.
