JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) says there are no other available avenues within its constitution for Jacob Zuma to appeal his expulsion from the party.
On Friday, the ANC’s national disciplinary committee rejected Zuma’s appeal against his expulsion.
The ANC expelled Zuma in July this year after it found him guilty of bringing the organisation into disrepute by forming and campaigning for another political organisation.
Zuma is the founder and the current president of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, which played a significant role in the ANC’s electoral decline from the recent general elections.

However, it is the end of the road of the relationship between the ANC and its former president, whose membership in the former liberation spanned over six decades.
While he currently leads another political party, Zuma insists he will always be an ANC member.
ANC national spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri said there was no coming back for Zuma.
“His actions have undermined the unity and cohesion of the movement at a time when it is critical to consolidate and push forward with organisational renewal and confront the pressing challenges facing South Africa.”
The ANC said Zuma now forms part of its history and not its future.
