JOHANNESBURG - As the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children approaches, some members of the queer community feel sidelined.
Founder of the non-profit organisation, Keep The Energy, Michael van Niekerk said that the LGBTQIA+ community continues to face hate crimes, highlighting that some cases that the organisation had been exposed to were simply too gruesome to share.

Van Niekerk emphasised the violence experienced by the queer community.
