CAPE TOWN - Nicolette Kinnear, the wife of slain top cop Charl Kinnear, is set to testify in the trial of alleged underworld gang boss Nafiz Modack on Thursday.
Kinnear will be answering questions related to attacks on their home and her husband's murder, allegedly on behalf of Modack, in September 2020.
Kinnear is set to testify about a botched hand grenade on the Kinnear family home in 2019.
The State's evidence shows gunmen were ready to fire at the Kinnear residence in Bishop Lavis on two occasions.
A third attempt involved a planned hand grenade attack, which was foiled by the police on duty.
Kinnear insists high-ranking police officers knew her husband was under threat, but still removed the security detail meant to protect him, before his eventual murder.
