Investigation into murder of 5 people in Dawn Park continues

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police are investigating the gruesome murder of five people in Dawn Park on the East Rand.
On Wednesday, the Ekurhuleni community woke up to gunshots as six people were brutally attacked and later shot.
Four victims died at the scene, a fifth at the hospital, while the sixth is still in hospital.
Residents believe the attack could be an act of mob justice, as some of the deceased were allegedly linked to petty crimes such as theft, drug dealing and intimidation.
It’s also reported that one of the victims was a local pastor and community leader.
The City of Ekurhuleni's Community Safety MMC Sizakele Masuku visited the scene and promised to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“Two were taken to the hospital, they were badly beaten. On the way or on arrival at the hospital, one passed on. So, we have five deceased now...”
Police said their investigation is ongoing.
