JOHANNESBURG -The African National Congress (ANC) in Ekurhuleni will on Thursday take its fight against electricity tariffs to energy regulator NERSA’s (National Energy Regulator of South Africa) doorstep in Pretoria.
They will deliver a petition signed by 4,700 residents.
Eskom’s proposed a 36.15% tariff increase for the year.

The political party said that the proposed hike further worsens the cost of living.
ANC coordinator, Jongizizwe Dlabathi, said that those living in the townships would be hardest hit.
"If you look at the affordability in terms of paying for municipal services, there are serious debts that municipalities are incurring in that regard, whether it's from water or the cost of fair electricity. So this affects mainly those already disadvantaged economically, but it doesn't exclude, you know, those that can afford."
