CAPE TOWN - The family of a 14-year-old girl who was raped during a kidnapping ordeal faced her alleged attackers on Wednesday.
The three men, arrested in Parow on Sunday and Monday, are accused of grabbing the child in Samora Machel in Philippi last week.
They are charged with rape, kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances and extortion.
There was a sombre mood around the family of the victim, who's still recovering from her ordeal.
The girl's aunt told EWN that she was traumatised and not coping.
"We were shocked by how these people who did this to our child look like. The child is still down and she's scared."
The three men were remanded in custody, with bail hearings scheduled for Tuesday.
Police had traced them to a residence in Parow, from where it's alleged they demanded a R10,000 ransom for the child's release.
