DAWN PARK - The community of Dawn Park in Ekurhuleni believes that Tuesday night's shooting of four people was a mob justice attack.
They discovered the gruesome scene in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to residents, the four men were badly beaten and shot dead in an open field.
Two others were discovered with severe injuries and are currently fighting for their lives in hospital.
An empty field, barricaded with police tape serves as a reminder of Wednesday morning's horrific discovery by Dawn Park residents.
At about 6am, local police received a call about the four dead bodies discovered mere metres away from the railway line on Hazelwood Drive.
Police have since concluded combing the scene, with forensic pathologists done recovering the bodies and collecting DNA.
Meanwhile, community members claim the deceased were linked to petty crimes such as theft, drug use and distribution, which they believe led to their brutal deaths.
"Mob justice individuals are also human beings and they also have children, you get me? So, I think this was not right and really, as of this morning, no one was happy."
No arrests have been made just yet, with investigations continuing.
