Tempers flared as Modack threatened Hawks officer in court after Monday's proceedings
Modack and 14 others face 122 charges for various crimes related to running a criminal enterprise.

CAPE TOWN - Tempers flared in the Western Cape High Court on Monday after alleged underworld gang boss Nafiz Modack threatened a Hawks officer in court.
Modack and 14 others face 122 charges for various crimes related to running a criminal enterprise.

Hawks investigator captain Edward du Plessis said Modack threatened his family in court after proceedings ended on Monday.
Modack became visibly agitated during proceedings after his wife's business and her address were mentioned in court.
A heated confrontation ensued while the accused were being led down to the holding cells with Modack seen confronting du Plessis.
Du Plessis added that Modack told him, "If you mention my family, you won't see your family again.
CLARK'S TESTIMONY CONTINUES
A senior Hawks officer has testified about how Modack used a Woodstock gang to carry out assassinations.
The chief investigator in the matter outlined how he tied the case together.
Lieutenant Colonel Eddie Clark said he was investigating the attempted murder of prominent Cape Town defence attorney, William Booth in 2020 when he got roped into the Modack case.
Clark detailed how Booth was pinged numerous times by co-accused Zane Kilian, before and after the hit on his life at his Higgovale home, on behalf of Modack.
Clark said his investigation had led to the arrest of various members of the terrible Westsiders gang in Woodstock.
He told the court after collecting cellphone evidence from the accused, he started linking the gang to other murders, all allegedly on behalf of Modack.
Clark is set to continue with his testimony on Tuesday.
