CAPE TOWN - Eastern Cape police are seeking the public's help in tracing a man linked to the Lusikisiki mass murders.

The suspect, Songezo Vuma, is also known as Mashiya.

Seven suspects, including the alleged mastermind linked to the shooting that left 18 family members dead, were arrested in October.

They are expected back in court next week Tuesday.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Siphokazi Mawisa: "A thorough preliminary investigation by the SAPS [South African Police Service] Provincial Serious Violent Crimes Investigation teams have reasons to believe that Songezo (Mashiya) Vuma would be able to assist the police in solving the Lusikisiki mass murders. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is requested to contact a team leader on 082 301 7662 or alternatively SAPS Crime Stop 08600 10111."
