Cape Town police hunting gunmen who killed teen boy in Elsies River

Police said the suspects allegedly jumped out of a car and randomly started shooting, killing Jahmiel van Reenen and injuring two other teens.

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police are combing the streets of the city in search of two gunmen linked to the murder of a 14-year-old boy in Elsies River. 
 
Police said the suspects allegedly jumped out of a car and randomly started shooting, killing Jahmiel van Reenen and injuring two other teens.
 
The attack happened while the teenagers were leaving their homes for school. 
 
A lockdown was imposed at all schools in the area after the gunmen fled.

The suspects headed into the grounds of St Andrews Secondary School, as learners were entering the school gates, causing panic.
 
A 15-year-old girl was wounded in the shooting that took place at 39th Avenue in Elsies River on Tuesday.
 
Her father, Zolile Gabuza, told EWN that he was very angry with his daughter's shooters.
 
"I'm very angry, my brother. I was walking in this road to go over to them. We are not scared, you better shoot us. I want to know why you are shooting my daughter, what did she do to you."
 
He said that his daughter was recovering well in hospital after being shot twice in the leg.
