Modack trial: Investigating officer in Kinnear's murder set to take stand

CAPE TOWN -The investigating officer in top cop Charl Kinnear's murder case is set to testify in the high-profile trial of alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modackon on Monday.
Modack and co-accused Zane Killian are charged with Kinnear's murder outside his Bishop Lavis home in 2020.
At the time, Kinnear was head of detectives in the Western Cape and had been investigating Modack for various crimes.
It's the State's case that Modack hired Zane Killian to track Kinnear in a plot to have the top cop murdered.

Kilian faces 43 charges related to various crimes, including racketeering, unlawful interception of electronic communications and murder.
Evidence shows Kilian pinged Kinnear more than 2,000 times before his murder in September 2020.
Kilian insists he was doing debt collection on behalf of Modack.
Lieutenant Colonel Eddie Clark is set to testify on Monday about his investigation into Kinnear's murder.
