CAPE TOWN - The Gugulethu CPF said that those involved in the murder of Noem My Skollie actor, David Manuel, should receive a harsh punishment.
Manuel and his best friend, Alfonso Fisher, were shot and killed in Gugulethu’s NY141 on 8 October.
Two siblings are accused of fraudulently taking out funeral policies for Manuel and appeared at the Athlone Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Wanda Mbele and Sindiswa Mbele were arrested on Tuesday, and police identified the funeral insurance policies as a possible motive for the murder.
Wanda Mbele broke down in the dock on Thursday when the State asked the court to keep him and his sister behind bars for a week while it prepares for their bail applications.
Gugulethu CPF spokesperson, Linda Kabeni, said that those responsible for Manuel's murder must face the full might of the law.
"The judiciary of South Africa must not fail us, those people must be convicted, and they must be sentenced. They must never see the light of day because we are scared of them as the community."
The matter will be back before court next week on Thursday for a bail application.
