JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Department of Health says hospitals are prepared for water restrictions that are expected across the city.
From 9pm until 4am on Friday, water pressure will be reduced to conserve resources.
The water throttling, a measure to help Gauteng's reservoirs recover and clamp down on illegal water connections was announced by Water Minister Pemmy Majodina this week.
Gauteng Health Department's spokesperson Motalatale Modiba said facilities are ready.
“So, across our clinics, we have water tankers, and at our hospitals, we have reservoirs in the main which are able to give us water supply for at least anything between 24 to 48 hours.”
