The result means Congo cannot overtake South Africa in the Group K as they have one game left to play.
The result means that Uganda tops the group with 10 points, Bafana Bafana are second on eight, Congo on four and South Sudan on three points. With one more round of matches left, Congo cannot overtake Bafana Bafana or Uganda, meaning that the top two teams in the group, Uganda and Bafana Bafana, qualify for the continental showpiece.
Uganda host South Africa on Friday and in the final round of qualifiers on 19 November, Congo host Uganda and South Africa will play South Sudan in Cape Town.
