CAPE TOWN - A State witness said that he sent alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modack, fake photographs to convince him he had links to the Anti-Gang Unit.
The witness, who is a former associate of Modack, said it was part of a plot to get back money he was owed.
Modack is on trial with 14 others for various crimes related to running a criminal enterprise.

Modack's lawyer cross-examined State witness, Mohamed Hanware, on Wednesday about charges of corruption and bribery Modack faces.
Hanware, who described Modack as "extremely gullible", said that he made him believe he was paying top cops to return firearms seized from his home.
He admits to pocketing the money because Modack owed him more than R1 million.
Hanware told the court he sent Modack photographs of himself inside a Milnerton warehouse, pretending to be at the Anti-Gang Unit's base in Faure.
The trial continues on Thursday.
