CAPE TOWN - Alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modack, has denied asking a former associate to hide two bodyguards who were involved in a murder at a Cape Town nightclub.
Modack and 14 others face 122 charges for various crimes related to running a criminal organisation.
A State witness, who is a former associate of Modack, is testifying about charges of murder and corruption Modack faces.
Mohamed Hanware said that Modack instructed him to hide two bodyguards during a meeting, a day after Pitso Ngwalo was killed outside the Cubana nightclub in Green Point.
The bodyguards were allegedly involved in a stabbing which led to Ngwalo's death.
Hanware said he agreed to hide the two men at a guesthouse he owned in Milnerton before they were moved out of the city.
Defense advocate, Bashier Sibda, told the court it's Modack's version that the meeting never happened and denies asking Hanware to hide the bodyguards.
