JRA shuts Roodepoort road due to illegal mining excavations

JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) has issued a notice of a road closure at an intersection on Mijn Street and Van Wyk Street in Roodepoort.
This is due to illegal mining excavations which saw several massive holes on the road, causing it to collapse.
The JRA has urged motorists to refrain from removing the barricades from the road, citing that it was a contravention of the National Road Traffic Act
Motorists are urged to use Currie Street and Herbert Street or Fredrick Street and Manuel Street.
