JOHANNESBURG - The Pretoria High Court has ruled in favour of one of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial to be released from solitary confinement.
Mthobisi Mncube approached the court, arguing that his detention in the C-Max section of the Kgosi Mampuru Prison since 2020 was unconstitutional.
The application was also supported by his co-accused, Fisokuhle Ntuli, who also complained about the conditions behind bars.
Ntuli said he had been incarcerated in solitary confinement since March 2023.
The court, however, struck Ntuli's application off the roll for a lack of urgency.
The two are part of five men arrested in connection with the murder of the Bafana Bafana captain ten years ago.
