Mohamed Hanware, who is testifying from the Middle East via Microsoft Teams, admitted to being present when Cubana nightclub bouncer, Pitso Ngwalo, was murdered on 3 December in 2017.
Modack and two of his co-accused, Jaques Cronje and Petrus Visser, face charges of murder after Ngwalo was stabbed to death outside the Cubana nightclub in Green Point.
Hanware said that the next day, Modack instructed him to hide two of his bodyguards, Goldberg and Dadi, in a guesthouse Hanware owned near Sable Square in Milnerton.
He told the court that Modack mentioned one of the bodyguards had stabbed Ngwalo in his armpit, cutting a vital artery, which led to his death.
Hanware admitted that he assisted Modack by hiding the two men at his guesthouse until they were moved out of the city.
