JOHANNESBURG - Sedibeng police have uncovered a suspected human trafficking operation during a raid at a Daleside factory.
According to police, officers arrived at the factory on Eland Street on Thursday, uncovering a shocking scene.
Inside, Malawian workers were found relabelling expired pilchards, changing old dates from 2021/2022 to fake expiry dates of 2026.

The workers, suspected victims of human trafficking, have been detained by police.
Authorities believe the factory owner is linked to the operation but remains at large.
Sedibeng district officials say investigations are ongoing, urging anyone with information to come forward.
